Jim MULRONEY is an Australian and has been the deputy-editor-in-chief of a weekly newspaper in Hong Kong since 2002. He is a board member of a non-government organization for the development of human rights, the Asian Centre for the Progress of Peoples, and Buhay Ka, a group dedicated to the care and support of Filipino migrant workers in the special administrative region with life-threatening diseases. He worked in Japan during the 1970s and 1980s in the field of community development and education, with special emphasis on young people and advocacy for refugees. Prior to coming to Hong Kong he was involved in special programmes in high schools in Australia, together with administration work and community education.
