This year the Double Ninth Festival was around the 18th October 2012. Twenty volunteers from Lend Lease, facilitated by You Dao, went to an Old Peoples Home for a visit and took with them 36 children from Da Xiang Kindergarten.
Before the volunteers and the children set off for the Home, the volunteers prepared the children to meet the old people and explained to them the meaning of the festival. They also prepared some greeting cards to give to them and practised some singing and dancing. They also prepared gifts.
The old people were delighted to see the children and joined in with the children in the singing of the songs. They were so touched to receive gifts given them by the children themselves.
